Last week my boss, Jennifer, emailed everyone on the floor because she is concerned about how messy our kitchen tends to be.
Upon inspection of our floor kitchen I realized that we’ve all become pretty complacent about the status of our cooking area.
It is important that we all clean up after ourselves in the kitchen, as well as any other area of our floor. Be especially careful when it comes to using the stove/oven.
It is great that some of us, including myself, have intentionally left our stuff in the kitchen so that others may use it too i.e. (toasters, cups, spoons, pots, pans, etc), but all those things need to be cleaned and put back in their place once you’re done with them
A recent concern of mine is just how stuffed full of ice cream our freezer has become. As great as some of those 2 for 1 deals might sound, please refrain from buying massive amounts of food if you don’t think you will be consuming it in the near future. The fridge/freezer is not meant to fit 36 people’s worth of food for a whole semester.
Finally, don’t leave trash in the fridge. If you leave a whole pizza box in the fridge with just 1 slice in there, for 2 weeks, you’ve left your trash inside the fridge.
AND, speaking of trash, DO NOT bring your personal trash from your room to the kitchen trash can. Take that trash outside because it is your responsibility to do so.
